Major Dofflemyer in His Own Words: FMCSA and state agencies prioritize the safety of all drivers on the road. During the year, Maryland inspects over 900,00 trucks to make sure all the components of the vehicle are operating properly. For the driver, knowing they passed the inspection gives them a feeling of security knowing they can get to their destination safely. As for the Motor Carrier companies, it encourages them to stay up to date with their safety programs and keeps them in check. 

Living in the DMV area, I witness a unique challenge large trucks and bus drivers face daily, the congestion and high traffic. If there is one piece of advice I could give to all drivers of any type of vehicle, it would be to have patience and consideration for one another. Be focused, be a kind driver, and everybody will get to where they need to be safely.
