Federal Register Description/Summary

FMCSA amended its regulations to require certified medical examiners performing physical qualification examinations of commercial motor vehicle drivers to use a newly developed Medical Examination Report (MER) Form, MCSA-5875, in place of the then current Medical Examination Report. The Medical Examination Report included advisory criteria relating to driver physical qualification standards set forth in 49 CFR 391.41(b). The final rule published the advisory criteria as Appendix A to Part 391—Medical Advisory Criteria without substantive change instead of continuing it in the new MER Form, MCSA-5875.
