FMCSA is providing this informational webinar overviewing the Qualification of Drivers; Vision Standard final rule published on January 21, 2022 (87 FR 3390). The webinar is designed to assist certified Medical Examiners in understanding the provisions of the regulatory changes and the Medical Examiner’s role in the medical certification process of individuals with monocular vision under the new alternative vision standard. The webinar explains the new regulatory requirements as well as the responsibilities of the individuals with monocular vision, vision grandfathered drivers, ophthalmologists or optometrists, and certified Medical Examiners. The webinar also provides a review of the new Vision Evaluation Report, Form MCSA-5871 and its requirements.
