URS Series Webinar 1: Awareness - October 2015

Overview

This training webinar was released in October, 2015 to give participants an update for the Unified Registration System (URS). The purpose of this webinar is to provide:

  • General awareness of the URS regulation requirements as part of the planned phased implementation and
  • An open question-and-answer session for participants.

The URS is the electronic online registration system that streamlines and simplifies FMCSA’s registration process and serves as a clearinghouse and depository of information on all entities regulated by the Agency. As directed by the U.S. Congress, the URS is a rulemaking that FMCSA undertook to simplify and reduce the amount of time entities must spend filling out paperwork as part of the registration process as well as enable the Agency to maintain more accurate information on those entities. It combines multiple registration processes, information technology systems and forms into a single electronic online registration process.
