File a Moving Fraud Complaint
There are many kinds of moving fraud – deliberately low-balling an estimate to later ask for more money, withholding customer belongings unless they pay significantly more than the quoted price, or knowingly assigning a false weight to a shipment, to name a few.
Filing a complaint with FMCSA is your chance to help identify moving companies, brokers, and auto transporters who are reported to have engaged in violations of the commercial regulations. These complaints, along with other data sources, are used to make decisions about which companies FMCSA may investigate.
Your complaint will be maintained in the company’s file as part of its record. If FMCSA decides to take enforcement action against the company, you may be contacted to provide additional information and documentation.
If you’d like to file a complaint, be prepared with the following items:

Your name, address, and telephone number

The name, address, and telephone number of the moving company, broker, or auto transporter

Origin and destination of the shipment

U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) and Motor Carrier (MC) identification numbers, if available

Details on the alleged specific violation(s)
