USDOT Routing Assistance Hotline

The U. S. Department of Transportation has activated their Routing Assistance Hotline for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene responders.  The Hotline supports the movement of Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial response personnel, equipment, and goods by providing recommended safe routes using a variety of data sources.  The Hotline is for FSLTT response personnel, as well as their contractors, conducting relief missions.  To reach the Hotline please call 833–99-ROADS or 833-997-6237.

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Approves Major Disaster Declaration by State


  • Alabama: WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced today that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Alabama to supplement response efforts due to emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Helene beginning Sept. 22 and continuing.  
  • Florida: WASHINGTON -- FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced that President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the state of Florida to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene from Sept. 23, 2024 and continuing.
  • Georgia: WASHINGTON-FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Georgia to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene from Sept. 24, 2024 and continuing. 
  • North CarolinaWASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of North Carolina to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Tropical Storm Helene from Sept. 25, 2024, and continuing. 
  • South Carolina: WASHINGTON-- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of South Carolina to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene from Sept. 25, 2024 and continuing. 
  • Tennessee: WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Tennessee to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Tropical Storm Helene from Sept. 26, 2024 and continuing. 
  • Virginia: WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the Commonwealth of Virginia to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by Tropical Storm Helene from Sept. 25, 2024, and continuing.
