Commercial Driver's License Program Implementation Grant
The goal of the national commercial driver’s license (CDL) program is to reduce the number and severity of commercial motor vehicle crashes in the US by ensuring only qualified drivers are eligible to receive and retain a CDL. This goal focuses on maintaining the concept that for every driver, there is only one driving record and one licensing document, commonly referred to as One Driver – One License – One Record.
The Commercial Driver's License Program Implementation (CDLPI) grant supports this goal by providing financial assistance to States and other eligible entities to improve the national CDL program and achieve compliance with FMCSA’s CDL regulations, 49 CFR Parts 383 and 384.
