If a driver forgets to indicate the start of Personal Conveyance (PC) or Yard Moves (YM), can they later edit that automatically generated driving event to PC (Off Duty) or YM (On Duty Not Driving)?

FMCSA-ELD-395-Q081(2022-03-10)

Question: If a driver forgets to indicate the start of Personal Conveyance (PC) or Yard Moves (YM), can they later edit that automatically generated driving event to PC (Off Duty) or YM (On Duty Not Driving)?

Guidance: No. The ELD rule does not allow driving time to be shortened for correcting special driving category selection. If a driver forgets to select special driving categories (Personal Conveyance or Yard Move) at the beginning or end of the special driving category, then the driver can make an annotation in the ELD record identifying the start and end of the special driving category.
