Question: In what format should I submit my public key to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)?

Answer: Public keys should be submitted as a public key certificate. This certificate may be self-signed. The certificate must conform to the specifications outlined in section 2.2.1 of the ELD Interface Control Document and Web Services Development Handbook.
