Question: Can the driver’s license information be omitted or redacted from the printed logs?

Answer: The driver’s license information cannot be omitted or redacted. Section 395.22(c) lists the information the motor carrier must provide when creating a driver account and sections 4.8.1.3 of 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, Appendix A lists the information that must be present on the ELD display screen or printout. This information includes the driver’s first and last name and driver’s license number and issuing state.
