RE: COVID-19 Emergency Waiver for IRP
Governor Gordon has declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 virus. All International Registration Plan (IRP) jurisdictions and enforcement personnel should refrain from taking enforcement action on vehicles with Wyoming IRP Vehicle Registrations (IRP Cab Card or IRP Temporary Authorization Authority [TA]) that have expiration dates on or after March 20, 2020.
In addition, requirements associated with the IRP and IFTA will be temporarily suspended for any motor vehicle engaged in interstate emergency relief efforts and traveling through the state of Wyoming as part of the emergency relief.
Any Wyoming IRP or IFTA Registrants affected by these events may carry this letter of extension with a copy of their expired Wyoming IRP Registration for presentation to any authority asking for proof of vehicle registration during this period of extension.
As such, this notice will serve as an extension of any Wyoming IRP Vehicle Registration (IRP Cab Card of IRP Temporary Authorization Authority [TA]), expiring on or after March 20th, 2020, until further notice.
Before taking any enforcement action (such as citation, tickets, or permits), please contact the Wyoming IRP Unit for validation of the vehicle via email at MVS@wyo.gov .
This extension shall remain in effect for the duration of the declared emergency or until further notice, whichever comes first.
This waiver does not imply or grant a vehicle to exceed weight limits posted for bridges and like structures. This waiver shall not be construed to allow any vehicle to operate in Wyoming without valid registration and insurance from its base state. Motor carriers or drivers currently subject to a state of federal out-of-service order are not eligible for the relief granted by this notice.
