DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY - EXTENSION
Proclamation Extending Liquid Petroleum Gas Delivery Emergency
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2023, I declared a limited state of emergency due to a propane shortage in the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, the limited state of emergency facilitated the suspension of the hours-of-service requirements contained in 49 C.F.R. § 395.3 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations for fifteen
(15) days; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada continues to suffer from a propane shortage which impacts the ability for people and businesses to heat homes and power essential govemment and business equipment; and
WHEREAS, extreme weather conditions are anticipated to continue and Nevada's propane shortage remains critically low;
WHEREAS, Nevada Revised Statute 414.070 authorizes the Governor to issue a proclamation declaring a state of emergency when a natural disaster of major proportions has occurred within the State, and the invocation of the Governor's emergency powers is necessary to protect the health and safety of persons in the State; and
NOW THEREFORE, I, Joe Lombardo, Governor of the State of Nevada, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, extend the limited declaration of emergency, signed on January 6, 2023, for an additional ten
(10) days.
Unless renewed, this limited declaration shall expire on February 1, 2023.
