OFFICIAL ORDER NO. 112950
SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF OFFICIAL ORDER NO. 112920, DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY, SUSPENSION OF REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS, AND EXEMPTION OF HOURS OF SERVICE AND STOPPAGE AT WEIGH STATIONS
WHEREAS, a state of emergency exists in Kentucky resulting from recent severe weather events causing flooding and damage in Eastern Kentucky and potentially other areas, and this area having suffered considerable damage and economic loss from these severe weather events, and the more severe weather having been forecasted; and
WHEREAS, Official Order No. 112920 suspended registration requirements and exempted hours of service and stoppage at weigh stations for commercial vehicles providing vital services and supplies to the areas affected by this weather event; and
WHEREAS, 49 CFR Part 395, 49 CFR 390.23 and 601 KAR 1:005 impose maximum driving time upon the drivers of commercial vehicles; and
WHEREAS, KRS 189.270, KRS 189.222, and 601 KAR 1:018 impose standards and establish procedures for the issuance of permits for overweight and/or over-dimensional vehicles; and
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me by KRS 189.231, 189.233, and 49 CFR 390.23, I hereby declare he provisions of Official Order No. 112920 are hereby extended up to and including August 28, 2022 at 12:01 AM EST.
