EXPIRATION OF THE NOTICE OF ENFORCEMENT DISCRETION DETERMINATION CONCERNING CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS INDUSTRY
IN 49 CFR PARTS 371 SUBPART B AND 375
[No. 2022-006]

This document is a reminder that the referenced Notice of Enforcement Discretion Determination (NEDD) will expire on October 31, 2022. The household goods industry and the individual shippers the industry serves are reminded that violations of the regulations established in the April 26, 2022, Final Rule (87 FR 24431) occurring on or after November 1, 2022, are subject to enforcement by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).  The rules went into effect on June 27, 2022. In the final rule, FMCSA made several revisions to its household goods consumer protection regulations. These changes responded to the Household Goods Working Group's Recommendations Report. The Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act, P.L. 114-94 (December 4, 2015) established the Household Goods Working Group.
