WAIVER OF IRP AND IFTA REQUIREMENTS FOR DELAWARE

April 3, 2020

 

WHEREAS, various states are being adversely impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic; and

WHEREAS, there is anticipated travel of commercial vehicles pertaining to the virus including fuel deliveries, food deliveries, and delivery of other critical medical supplies that are not currently registered in the IRP and IFTA programs or have not been apportioned in these jurisdictions;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Jana Simpler, Director, Division of Motor Vehicles, acting under the authority vested in me by the State of Delaware Department of Transportation, do hereby order that effective 5:00 pm on April 3, 2020, Delaware will authorize a temporary waiver of IRP registration and IFTA requirements for the purpose of ensuring that essential services and emergency relief supplies reach the virus affected areas in a timely manner. This pertains only to shippers and carriers of essential emergency relief supplies or those providing medical care in the virus impacted areas. This waiver will remain in effect for the duration of the State of Emergency.
