Notice of Waiver of International Registration Plan (IRP)

Requirements for Connecticut

In response to the pandemic COVID 19, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles has authorized a temporary waiver of IRP requirements pursuant to section 14-Sc of the Connecticut General Statutes for the purpose of ensuring that essential emergency relief supplies, equipment and services reach the affected areas of Connecticut. This waiver applies only to commercial motor vehicles based outside of Connecticut that are properly registered and are entering Connecticut for the specific purpose of responding to the emergency, including vehicles transporting relief supplies and equipment, and vehicles used by relief agencies. This waiver will remain in effect for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of this notice. International Registration Plan, Inc. will be notified of this waiver.
