NOTICE OF WAIVER OF INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION PLAN (IRP) PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS UPDATE
April 24, 2020
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic -- As of April 24, 2020 in-person operations at all DC DMV locations (e.g., Inspection Station and Service Centers) are set to resume on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. In-person operations for Adjudication Services is set to resume on Monday, May 18, 2020.
For emergencies while the IRP Office is closed, please email dcirpdmv@dc.gov. Listed below is important information about key services:
- DMV has extended the expiration date for all documents expiring March 1 through May 15, including driver licenses, identification cards, vehicle registrations, inspections, ticket payments and ticket adjudication responses, until June 29, 2020.
- All driver licenses, vehicle registrations, and vehicle inspections scheduled to expire have been granted a waiver without penalty until DC DMV reopens at full operating capacity. All tickets will remain in their current status until June 29th, and no additional penalties will be added during this period. In the interim, the public is encouraged to request adjudication and pay citations online.
- All driver license suspensions and revocations will be paused until DC DMV returns to full operating capacity.
