FMCSA Annual Analysis, Research, and Technology Sessions

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) held its 17th Annual Analysis, Research, and Technology Sessions on January 9, 2018, in conjunction with the 97th annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board.

The sessions continue to attract a diverse crowd of industry stakeholders, safety advocates, researchers, technology companies, government representatives, and domestic and international transportation professionals. This year, FMCSA showcased several of our safety priorities and discussed efforts to safely integrate automated driving systems into the CMV industry. Other topics included research mandated by the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, 2015 (FAST Act), truck platooning, efforts to improve motor carrier safety measurement, upcoming pilot programs, implementation of recommendations published by the Post-Accident Report (PAR) Advisory Committee, and the Agency’s research agenda for 2018.
