Update: Connecticut-licensed CDL driver Terence W. Slowther
March 27, 2014
WASHINGTON – FMCSA has determined that the Imminent Hazard Order issued on March 10, 2014, against commercial motor vehicle driver Terence W. Slowther is no longer necessary, and on March 26, 2014, FMCSA rescinded the Order. The basis for the Imminent Hazard Order was a finding that the medical emergency and near-crash on February 9, 2014, were caused by a known yet unreported serious medical condition that impaired the driver’s ability to safely operate a passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicle. Based on subsequent medical evaluation, FMCSA has determined that the incident in question resulted from a seizure caused by a previously undiagnosed medical condition which disqualifies Mr. Slowther from operating a commercial motor vehicle. Because the conditions which served as the basis for the Imminent Hazard Order no longer exist, the Order has been rescinded.
