FMCSA Opens Grant Application Cycle for Enforcement Training and Support Grant Program

Tuesday, December 10, 2024

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) today announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity for five separate discretionary grants in the fiscal year (FY) 2025 application cycle. Grant applications are due by 5:00 pm Eastern Time on January 24, 2025.

These grants, which could total over $5 million, will fund projects that advance the development and delivery of motor carrier safety training to non-Federal employees.

“Well-trained safety partners at all levels of government are essential to keeping our roadways safe and protecting lives,” said FMCSA Deputy Administrator Vinn White. “Their expertise and dedication ensure that safety standards are met and that risks are minimized on every mile traveled.”

The High Priority Enforcement Training and Support Grant Program funds the development and delivery of motor carrier safety training to non-Federal employees who conduct CMV enforcement activities in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s Out-of-Service criteria; and to develop related training materials to increase awareness and education on CMV safety and otherwise improve CMV safety.

More information about funding amounts, eligible applicants, eligible projects, and further details can be found on FMCSA’s website.
