The functionality for certified medical examiners to submit results of CMV driver examinations into the National Registry was restored on June 22, 2018. At this time, only certified medical examiners are able to access and submit exam results. FMCSA is currently working on the functionality for designated medical examiner administrative assistants and third-party administrators to submit exam results on behalf of certified medical examiners. Once this function is available, FMCSA will email certified medical examiners.
Although on June 21, 2018, FMCSA published an interim final rule announcing that several provisions of the Medical Examiner’s Certification Integration final rule were extended, the provision for certified medical examiners to submit results of examinations performed by midnight (local time) of the next calendar day following the examination starting on June 22, 2018, was NOT extended.
All certified medical examiners are now required to migrate their national registry account to login.gov.
Effective immediately, all medical examiners listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (National Registry) must create an account with login.gov to access their National Registry account. The use of login.gov is required to meet new National Institute of Standards of Technology requirements for secure validation and verification. By using login.gov, you will get an extra layer of security to help protect your National Registry account against security breaches and users will be able to utilize their login.gov account to sign into multiple government agency accounts.
What is login.gov?
Login.gov is a service that offers secure and private online access to government programs, such as federal benefits, services and applications. With a login.gov account, you can sign into multiple government websites with the same email address and password.
