Extension of Medical Examiner’s Certification Integration final rule

Although on June 21, 2018, FMCSA published an interim final rule announcing that several provisions of the Medical Examiner’s Certification Integration final rule were extended, the provision for certified medical examiners to submit results of examinations performed by midnight (local time) of the next calendar day following the examination starting on June 22, 2018, was NOT extended. In addition, certified medical examiners must continue to issue the original paper Medical Examiner’s Certificate, MCSA-5876 to all qualified CMV drivers until June 22, 2021.
