Duffy today announced that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is moving to codify guidelines that enforce English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers into a new rule. By turning this guideline into a codified rule, future administrations will not be able to weaken ELP requirements like the Obama administration did allowing unqualified drivers to remain on U.S. roads.
FMCSA Removes Five Devices from List of Registered Electronic Logging Devices
Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed five devices from the agency’s list of electronic logging devices (ELDs). These devices were placed on the Revoked Devices list due to the companies’ failure to meet the minimum requirements established in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.
