Target Audience: Safety Investigator

Description: We will briefly look at recent changes in FMCSA policy as they apply to using these systems during motor carrier reviews. We will gain a working knowledge of how GPS and terrestrial tracking work and how they tie into motor carrier operations that use their software systems. The course will cover policy, how tracking systems work, and where the information goes into the carrier’s day-to-day operations. Finally, we will learn investigative techniques to apply tracking to hours of service (HOS) compliance.

Objective: This presentation is designed to introduce the student to the communication/tracking systems used today in carrier operations
