ART Promotes CMV Safety

Webinar Series

Join these Web conferences to hear the latest on FMCSA analysis, research and technology programs from the experts. Phone in, connect in, participate, and communicate!

Spotlight on ART CMV Safety Programs

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Office of Analysis, Research and Technology (ART) host's online seminars that promote ART commercial motor vehicle (CMV) safety programs, help inform and educate targeted audiences, spotlight their benefits, and offer an opportunity for feedback and information exchange with participating audiences. These webinars provide a convenient, no-cost way for FMCSA's stakeholders to learn from program and project experts both within FMCSA and with its partners about the latest trends, tools, and noteworthy practices in commercial motor vehicle safety.

How do they work?

The webinars are held on a monthly basis throughout the year and while the audiences are targeted based on the featured topic, they are open to all interested parties in both the public and private sectors on a first-come, first-served basis. They are interactive and are held via teleconference and the Internet. All that is needed is a telephone and a 56K Internet connection. This format allows for extensive and widespread participation. The webinars can vary in length but commonly are 60 to 90 minutes, including a period of audience Q&As, and can accommodate up to 200 participants.

Why dial in?

Through the use of webinars, participants can save time and money by viewing the speakers' presentations on their personal computer and hear the audio portion of the presentation by dialing into the assigned toll-free teleconference number. The FMCSA Website provides details about each of the seminars and information about registration. It is also used for logging on to the webinar and providing feedback after each one.

Widespread benefits of ART webinars

This series is part of a larger outreach initiative by FMCSA aimed at providing technical information, study results, tools for using current programs, and glimpses of what's to come in transportation research and technology. The programs are designed to help transportation practitioners, academia, decision makers in the public and private sectors, and the general public to meet the transportation challenges of tomorrow by understanding the benefits of the research, technology and data quality improvements being accomplished at FMCSA today.
