Prerequisites for Attendance: Successful completion of North American Standard Part A and North American Standard Part B, and currently certified as a Level I inspector.
Target Audience: Federal, State MCSAP or local law enforcement personnel responsible for conducting driver inspections.
Description: Participants will build upon their knowledge and experience to perform a more in-depth commercial motor vehicle inspection. Participants will be able to use their information during roadside inspections, terminal inspections, or during collision data collection. This course is designed to provide State law enforcement personnel with the basic knowledge, skills, practices, and procedures necessary for performing driver inspections under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program. Referred to as Advanced North American Standard Inspections, the course will focus on understanding federal regulations and applying them during a safety inspection of commercial motor vehicles (e.g., cargo tanks, moving vans, refrigerated trucks) and their drivers.
Objective: Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to perform a thorough inspection of a commercial motor vehicle operator.
